| Details: | 09.19.2023-LCR-23 I emailed Michelle and Steve informing them of the recent alert indicating that Elk River Campground exceeded the copper action level. The copper concentration in one of the four samples collected on August 9 exceeded 1.3 mg/L. DMCE already sent a letter in May for exceeding the Lead action level in April (LCR-8). All the steps in that letter are still needed so no additional letter will be sent to the system. This system no longer has the option to avoid installing corrosion control treatment. That option was possible only with 2 rounds being below the action level. This was their first round, and it was above the action level. Next steps: Michelle and Steve are advised to collect the water quality parameters in the distribution system. Once the WQPs are reported, the system has the option to use Civil West Engineering services to help with the corrosion control treatment recommendation. 04.24.2023-LCR-8 I emailed Michelle, Steve and Conrad, informing them of the recent alert indicating that Elk River Campground exceeded the Action Level for lead (0.015 mg/L). I listed some of the steps the system needs to take to address the lead action level exceedance. Next steps: Michelle will verify with Steve and Conrad the validity of the sites that were used for the lead and copper sampling. if the five sampling sites are valid, I provided additional instructions to collect two rounds of WQPs samples, a lead and copper sample at EP-A, and two 6-month rounds of lead and copper samples. Michelle reached out later to inform me that she will we discussing the requirements with Steve. TCR-270 No actions needed at this time to address the TC positive in the source. |
