| Details: | 07.18.2023-Craig Kuhnert, the Water Distribution Superintendent reported that the system had a momentary pressure reduction on the 4LR pressure zone in which the operating pressure at the highest elevation service meter dropped to around 7.5 psi. The pressure drop was due to a 20-minute-long power outage that impacted the Laurel Ridge pumping station. This station has a natural gas generator, but the water treatment staff believe that the generator had an electrical issue that kept the Automatic Transfer Switch from kicking over. The water treatment staff are currently working to determine the electrical issue to ensure that future events don’t disrupt service. Next steps: A boil advisory is not required. Per water system BMPs for service outages due to reduced pressure events, staff are going to verify service pressure, minimum chlorine residuals and they may perform some light flushing. |
