| Details: | Spoke with John at Young Life about the TTHM result of 0.17370 mg/L which is higher than the MCL which triggers the need for a Tier 2 advisory for DBPs. The LRAA calculated for TTHM was 0.089mg/L and OEL was calculated to be 0.114 mg/L which is above the MCL (0.080mg/L) and the system is required to submit an OEL by September 13, 2023. The OEL reporting form, due date as well as resources for the public notice were sent to the operator. Operator also notified DWS that the system is working with a consultant to resolve the long term DBP issues and will hopefully have a plan review submitted Fall 2023. 9/7/2023 update: John emailed the OEL report on 9/6/23 that described continued work toward a pretreatment solution to reduce DBP formation caused by DOC/TOC in source water. Funding has been allocated to install an inclined plate clarifier prior to UF and granular activated carbon post-UF. The combination of these additions to our drinking water treatment plant is expected to prevent future DBP exceedances. System will be submitting for OHA plan review later this fall, and pending OHA approval have the new equipment installed and in operation prior to Summer 2024. |
