| Details: | Rick called to report two routine sites sampled on 10/9/2023 were total coliform positive. DMCE is waiting to receive the laboratory reports. Three other sites sampled at the same time were coliform absent. I informed him that two positive samples in a month will trigger a level 1 coliform investigation. On Monday next week, he plans to collect three repeats for each routine positive and a combined source sample. He also plans to sample the reservoirs as a precaution. He will notify DWS of sample results when they are available. We also discussed if repeat results indicate coliform is associated with the site and/or tap he could request sample invalidation. On 10/18, Rick emailed that the Main Tank 2 was total coliform positive. It was isolated and will be drained and inspected on Thursday 10/19. Repeat samples and source samples collected on 10/16 were all coliform absent. With two coliform positive samples in October a level 1 coliform investigation is triggered and due by 11/23. An investigation form was emailed to Rick on 10/25. 11/7/2023 update: System sent the completed Level 1 investigation form to DWS. Tank 2 was believed to be the cause of the investigation and coliform repeat samples, but the water system staff did not find any issues with the tank. |
