Assistance Type: | CIRCUIT RIDER ASSISTANCE | ||
Details: | Background/Problem Identification: Jeff Miller from Milo Academy reached out to the circuit rider indicating that they needed assistance with several items. Their clear well (150,000-gallon concrete tank) has multiple large leaks and needs replaced or a major rebuild. Their WTP is also quite old and needs work. They also need assistance with a tracer study to determine contact time. Assistance Provided: The circuit rider visited the water system and made a general assessment of the infrastructure. Since the only issue that was compliance related was the CT Study, it was determined that the tracer testing/CT Study should be a priority. Jeff indicated that the WTP was unable to run at its peak flowrate due to seasonal variation at the water source. It was determined that fall would likely be the soonest the plant would be able to run at full speed, so we propose to run the tracer testing at that time. The circuit rider worked on a methodology for the tracer test. Follow-Up Actions Needed: The circuit rider can resume the support effort once the flowrate in the source increases enough to allow the WTP to run at peak flow.
