| Details: | Jamie received a call from the lab that one of the confirmation samples was positive for Ecoli and Total Coliform. She immediately called me. I told her that she was on a boil water notice. All items that are connected to water need to be turned off including the coffee machines, soda machines, ice machines, no food prep allowed. They don’t have a way to boil water in the facility therefore no hand washing, dishwashing can be done. All sinks to the employees and to the public must be closed. No restrooms or showers. I received a call from Jamie’s boss Jose. I asked him to call Amy Word in DW to get more information as I was driving at the moment. Then I received a call from Environmental department asking the same questions. What do we do next? I went to loves, purswell pump had already been there and poured 500 ppm about 1.5 lbs of chlorine tablets down the well. The fire department was there emptying the storage tank. When I left they still had 60 inches to drain out of the storage tank. Then they were going to turn on the pump to start filling the storage tank again and run the lines in the store to empty as much water as they can throughout the weekend. I filled out the public notice, printed it and Jamie and I went to all 6 entrances to post it on every door. There is a sign for the restrooms and showers closed. I gave Jamie chlorine test strips that go up to 2000 ppm down to 25. As soon as the chlorine gets down she can start using the polycons and individual chlorine tablets I left with her to check the chlorine level. When the chlorine level is 0 ppm she can take another sample from the Carl’s Jr hand sink that was positive. |
