There was a big lighted sign instructing customers to boil their water that was recently put at the main road to the water system; a new and effective communication tool.

We accomplished the following:
  • Established professional communication response timelines going forward, and got contact info for water system secretary.
  • Reviewed Best Management Practices for repairs or other outages.
  • Verified old (GWUDI) well was physically disconnected.
  • Reviewed proper coliform and residual sampling techniques and labeling.
  • Sampled at source (wellhead), Entry Point (after clearwell, 2x), and at first user.
  • Discussed Notice of Intent to Issue Civil Penalties.
  • Discussed how to best communicate with All customers going forward. A cheaper version of the big lit road sign now by the highway is an effective, low-tech option.
  • Discussed resources like the OHA-DWS Circuit Rider, and others, and what they can work on.
  • Discussed Criteria to Lift the Boil -
    1. Clean coliform sample results from Raw and Distribution from today's visit
    2. Adequate and continuous residual - minimum chlorine residual (Target more than 0.3 ppm this week since the residual was a little low)
    3. Adequate supply

Four coliform samples were then dropped off at the Public Health Lab Wednesday afternoon.
