Details: Complainant was the first to notify OHA-DWS that there was an outage since Saturday. However, the complaints at the water system have been ongoing. They stem from the same source as all complaints do:
  • the water system is old,
  • it regularly springs leaks (this one today is in the slough that only allows work during low tide),
  • there are no meters or valving in the distribution system so isolating leaks is impossible,
  • there is too much work for the current under-certified operator,
  • The WTP is not updated nor is it able to be digitally monitored

Regrettably, people need water now, but the solutions Midland needs take time. That frustrating conflict creates tensions among customers and Board members. But work is still getting done despite these frustrations:

The good news in 2024 is that funding will begin to solve many of the challenges at Midland.
