Details: | 03.29.2024 I contacted Corinne inquiring about the treatment and any possible changes to the system that may have caused the DBP MCL exceedance. The system is already on quarterly DBP monitoring. The LRAA and OEL for HAA5 is still under the MCL (0.060 mg/L). No changes to the chemical sampling schedule needed at this time. Corinne was asked to provide an update on any corrective actions taken to address this issue. Corinne reported that one of the volunteers forgot to close the valve between the GAC filter and the rest of the system when doing a caustic soda clean about a month ago. He was instructed by David Funderburk to keep flushing until the water was clear. David then told Corinne that the GAC may have been compromised by the caustic soda solution. Corinne is waiting to see what DBP sample results will show in in June to determine if they need to replace the media in the GAC. |
