Details: | The following summary addresses a waterline leak compliant received by the Public Utility Commission (PUC) and subsequently forwarded to Hood River County Environmental Health (Hood River County) and Oregon Health Authority-Drinking Water Services (DWS). 7/29/24 (Mon) – PUC received a customer complaint over the phone and online regarding on on-going water leak in the vicinity of Baseline Drive and 4th Avenue for the Parkdale Water Company (Parkdale) as evidenced by water running down the street past the customer’s house. 7/31/24 (Wed) – PUC emailed Parkdale with questions and emailed DWS and Hood River County the complaint with the Case Record.rtf file. 8/2/24 (Fri) – PUC email received by Parkdale (per Parkdale's 8/5/24 response) 8/5/24 (Mon) – Parkdale emailed PUC with the response that they discovered the leak June 26, 2024, took measures to address traffic concerns, and were awaiting parts. They anticipated having the leak repaired by the end of the following week [Friday, 8/16/24]. 8/6/24 (Tue) – PUC emailed Parkdale requesting to be kept up to date. Parkdale responded that they would do that. DWS (Evan Hofeld) emailed Hood River County to see if they needed assistance, which was requested as the water system had not responded to the County's attempts to contact them. DWS (Evan) called and left a voice mail at 541-352-5577 and emailed (pdw342@hrecn.net) John Hirata with Parkdale requesting an update and providing best management practices for waterline repairs and informed them of boil water notification requirements should water system pressures drop below 0 psi. 8/7/24 (Wed) – PUC followed up with customer who filed the original complaint on 7/29/24. DWS and PUC spoke over the phone and PUC sent the attached updated Case Record.rtf file to DWS, which contained Parkdale's 8/5/24 response. 8/8/24 (Thurs) – Parkdale responded to DWS - chlorine residuals and system pressures appear to be unaffected and the repairs are anticipated to be done by 8/16/24. |
