Details: | Teams Meeting Part 2 of 2. See Part 1 here: Part 1 Tom from DWS reviewed the well construction, which meets standards and draws from a confined aquifter with low sensitivity. There are highly sensitive soils in the area due to nitrate. Past total coliform from the well was said to be due to stagnation and lack of use. The consultant mentioned that a public review and comment process occurred, but the Terrebonne water district did not participate or provide comments. He does not see a need to consider another route at this stage of the process. State roads have many more requirements which impacts cost, and the sewer line is needed where the development is, which is closer to the well. Dan Bruce said the water district will contest the placement of the sewer line. Next steps: Consultant to complete design per DEQ rules (and additional double-wall and leak detection near the well) and submit to DEQ for review by early 2025. |
