Details: The following are updates for what are now 2 leaks and complaints received by the Public Utility Commission (PUC) and subsequently forwarded to Hood River Co. Env. Health and OHA-Drinking Water Services (DWS). See contact reports from 8/6/24 and 9/12/24.
9/24/24 - Charla Wolf with the PUC requested an update.
10/2/24 - Tammy Hirata with Parkdale replied stating:

For the Baseline repair, we ordered the necessary part from HD Fowler, with an expected arrival date of September 25th. However, HD Fowler has informed us that the part will be delayed by another week due to supply issues from their supplier, Romac. In addition to waiting for the part, we were also trying a different approach to repair the water leak by collaborating with another local water company. Unfortunately, their assistance has been delayed as well.

As for the Clear Creek Road repair, it is currently delayed because we need the track hoe that’s being used at the Baseline Road water leak site to protect the area from a potential sinkhole. We don’t have a large enough metal plate at the moment to secure that area until the part for the Baseline repair arrives.

10/18/24 - Charla Wolf with PUC requested an update. Evan Hofeld with DWS also requested confirmation that the leaks have not adversely affected water system service pressure and that the chlorine residual has been maintained at a detectable level. Evan noted that distribution coliform samples for Aug and Sept been absent of coliform bacteria with a free chlorine residual of 0.17 - 0.18 mg/l.
