| Details: | I spoke with the operator regarding the most recent E-Coli positive repeat sample. At this time, the system is required to post a boil-water notice. I instructed the operator to shock and flush the system, to attempt to investigate the system to find out what may have caused the contamination, and to continue with monthly coliform testing. The operator confirmed that they would post the boil water notice, and send a copy to Lane DW program after posting. I informed the operator that they are NOT required to install treatment at this time, but that I recommend they plan on doing so in the future, as this type of issue has come up repeatedly in the last couple years. I sent the operator a public notice template and instructions via email. UPDATE 4/16/2025. The State Drinking Water program has confirmed that at this time the system IS required to install a treatment system. I informed the operator of this requirement, and the operator tentatively agreed to install treatment. I sent the operator a list of contractors they could hire to consult with or install treatment. The operator will discussion treatment options with their contractor, and agreed to send details on the system they plan to install prior to following through with installation. The operator stated that they should be able to install treatment within the next few months. |
