| Details: | This was the first quarter on their new chemical monitoring schedules now that their sources are classified as GU. Initially, they need to collect VOCs and SOCs quarterly. Corinne phoned because the lab does not have enough kits to do the VOC and SOC samples for both entry points before the end of this month. (Whaleshead water system has had many difficulties in the last couple months - line breaks, storm flooding, two boil advisories, etc.). The lab has one kit available now, so Whaleshead could monitor at only one EP this quarter, which later on would mean the schedule reductions would occur at different times for each EP. I explained to Corinne that she has a choice of either doing that or waiting till she has all the bottles she needs and starting the quarterly monitoring during the 2nd quarter of this year. That would mean they would receive 4 one-point monitoring violations for this first quarter (one violation for VOCs and SOCs at each EP). Corinne is choosing the latter. Although they will get the violations in the short term, it means all the monitoring, driving to the lab and schedule reductions later on would occur together. | ||
