Details: | 09.25.2025 The operator reported that they haven't had any sewer or septic work done recently. No other recent water complaints or reports received of unusual colors from customers at the campground. 09.22.2025 DWS received a water quality complaint from an unnamed resident at the Elk River Campground reporting that fluorescent green water is coming out of their drinking water faucets. Actions taken: I left a voice message for the complainant asking for a callback to identify the specific home that was affected and further investigate the complaint. I also emailed the operator requesting information on whether they have had any type of sewer or septic work done recently. My initial assessment was that fluorescent color could be likely caused by a non-toxic tracer dye, which is commonly used to identify leaks or trace utility lines (such as sewer, septic, or pressurized hot water lines). While the dye itself is often harmless, its presence would indicate a cross-connection or potential failure point in the plumbing or well system. |
