| Details: | Scott Baker, operator for the system, called to inform that the routine sample from the break room tested positive for E. coli and coliform. He was wondering what he should do next. I let him know that he would need to collect 3 repeat samples (one upstream, one downstream, and one at the original location). I also let him know that he should hold off on performing corrective action or completing a level 1 investigation until we find out the results from the repeat and assessment samples. We also discussed issuing a Tier 1 Boil Water Public Notice, but let him know it was not required until the repeats of assessment samples test positive for coliform or E. coli. Mr. Bake was emailed links to the investigation forms, public notice templates and other water system operation web pages. Talked to Mr. Baker again on 10/2/25 when the alert was generated. We reviewed the sampling procedures, and he was going to talk to the lab again. | ||
