| Details: | I received an alert on May 7th that the April 17th TTHM sample result at the Muddy Station site was over the MCL. Compliance with the MCLs for TTHM and HAA5 are calculated as a Locational Running Annual Average (LRAA). The 2nd quarter LRAA is below the MCL. The operational evaluation level (OEL) for TTHM was exceeded for 2nd quarter requiring an examination of water system treatment and distribution practices. Operational changes can be made to reduce TTHM levels. I informed Bill to submit the OEL report to me by July 16th. Bill emailed me the completed OEL report on May 10th. The elevated TTHM may be attributed to abnormal influent turbidity caused by rapid snow melt requiring a higher than normal disinfectant application. Young Life is looking into pretreatment options that would help manage seasonal source water issues. |
