| Details: | 03.05.2026 - The water system distribution superintendent reached out to inquire about the reporting requirements for PFAS in the CCR. Lab results for PFAS are under the reporting limit and were J flagged on the report. The operator was provided with the following information: there are PFAS rules for public notification and CCR requirements, but they don’t kick in until April 2027 and April 2029. The EPA PFAS Notifications to Consumers quick reference guide summarizes the PN and CCR requirements. A link was provided. Starting April 2027: • Detections of the regulated PFAS from initial monitoring must be included in Consumer Confidence Reports. • Ongoing compliance monitoring begins, and detections of the regulated PFAS from compliance monitoring must be included in Consumer Confidence Reports going forward. • Public notification for monitoring and reporting violations begins (community water systems can include PN violations in the CCR). Starting April 2029: • Must comply with all MCLs • Public notification required for MCL violations (Tier 2 PN distributed as soon as possible but no later than 30 days). There are also CCR requirements for UCMR detections & notice to customers about the availability of UCMR results that can be found on the DWS website. Link provided. No further actions required at this time. |
