| Details: | Alkalinity and pH measurements are being collected from the distribution system during Salem's round of lead and copper tap sampling 6/1 to 9/30/19 to demonstrate compliance with the minimum distribution alkalinity and pH levels that have been set by DWS. Salem reported three alkalinity samples collected from the distribution system in June 2019 under the required minimum of 20 mg/L for alkalinity (excursions). The distribution alkalinity minimum was set by DWS in January 2018 using the best available data at the time (past lead and copper tap sample results and pH/alkalinity data collected during those lead and copper tap sampling rounds). Once Salem's most recent round of lead and copper tap sampling results from June 2019 are reported, DWS will review the results and determine if an adjustment to the distribution alkalinity minimum is warranted. | ||
