Details: | I received a call from St Innocent Winery. They received a paper notice from Drinking Water Services that their water system had received a violation. We discussed the sample and reporting window for quarterly routine water samples. Samples are to be taken during the quarter and reported (received by DWS) within 10 days of the closing of the quarter. St. Innocent had trouble with their lab not reporting a quarterly sample and the 2nd and 3rd quarter samples were received by DWS on the same day (July 18th). While Alana and I had already discussed this situation, the receipt of the violation notice from DWS reinvigorated her questions. I explained that the DWS computer system is delayed in generating and sending out notices of this type. I expect that the missed second quarter sample violation will soon auto-RTC in response to the 3rd quarter sample being received. Since both samples were received the same day, the order of operations appears to include generating the violation, and then later RTC'ing the violation. We will both monitor the violation to ensure that it Returns To Compliance. |
