Details: | Whaleshead Beach RV Resort operates two treatment facilities located at 19921 Whaleshead Rd. Brookings Oregon in Curry County 8.2 miles north of the city of Brookings. Water supply comes from a combination of two hand dug wells near Whaleshead Creek for treatment system A, and a spring (upper cistern) source for treatment system B. Water is treated through multiple filtration steps prior to chlorine disinfection, requiring a .5 log inactivation CT. Modifications were required for Treatment System A to made prior to conducting the tracer study for this system. Civil West was informed that the lower system was ready for the tracer study. Jared Sylvester scheduled a site visit to verify system status in preparation for the tracer study. During the site visit issues were identified that would not allow the tracer to be ran at this time and would need to be addressed prior to scheduling the tracer study for the lower system. • The low-level float needs adjusted on the clearwell to allow for consistent pump flow rate, and to meet minimum CT requirements. The low-level float specified height is to be approximately 4ft. • The DRC is also going to address adjustments to the filter pump outlet to allow for a reliable bucket test, as the current configuration makes pulling a reliable sample for flow testing difficult. There is no flow meter installed in the clearwell influent line. 1. 5-13-19, A site visit was conducted to verify that the system conditions met requirements to allow for the tracer study to be conducted. 2. Notified Operator, DRC and Owner of the additional requirements needed prior to conducting the tracer study. Tracer study to be scheduled upon completion of modifications. |
