| Details: | I received a call from Dick as a follow up to their recent positive total coliform sample. Dick believed the positive test was a sampling error due to not removing the aerator on the sample faucet. Follow up samples tested negative for coliform. I encouraged Dick to review sample technique guidance on our website and either remove aerator or chose a tap without an aerator. When asked, Dick indicated they are in discussions about adding filtration and possibly joining to the Galice Resort system (as a single system). He indicated the Galice Subdivision water system is no longer observing the boil advisory due to have chlorination established again in the distribution system. I reminded him that without approved filtration, the chlorination are likely not penetrating and inactivating bacteria/pathogens within sediment not being filtered. I instructed Dick that the boil advisory needs to be maintained until approved filtration is in place. |
