| Details: | Whaleshead Beach RV Resort operates two treatment facilities located at 19921 Whaleshead Rd. Brookings Oregon in Curry County 8.2 miles north of the city of Brookings. Water supply comes from a combination of two hand dug wells near Whaleshead Creek for treatment system A, and a spring (upper cistern) source for treatment system B. Water is treated through multiple filtration steps prior to chlorine disinfection for the lower system (System A), and chlorination prior to filtration for the upper system (System B). Both systems require a .5 log inactivation CT. Whaleshead Beach RV Park is currently in the process of modifying Treatment System B configuration and improving operations to increase contact time and disinfection consistency, which will also allow for the conducting of a tracer study, upon completion. 3-7-2018 - 5-29-2019 1. Jared Sylvester has been in contact over several weeks with the Operator, DRCs, OHA representatives and the property owner to aid, as needed, regarding the upper system upgrades and revising the tracer study methodology to reflect system changes. This circuit rider effort will be closed, and a new CR effort opened to perform the tracer study, based on the current configuration, once all system changes have been completed and the system is ready to perform the tracer study. |
