| Details: | Whaleshead Beach RV Resort operates two treatment facilities located at 19921 Whaleshead Rd. Brookings Oregon in Curry County 8.2 miles north of the city of Brookings. Water supply comes from a combination of two hand dug wells near Whaleshead Creek for treatment system A, and a spring (upper cistern) source for treatment system B. Water is treated through multiple filtration steps prior to chlorine disinfection, requiring a .5 log inactivation CT. Whaleshead Beach RV Park is currently in the process of modifying Treatment System B configuration and improving operations to increase contact time and disinfection consistency, which will also allow for the conducting of a tracer study, upon completion. 1. 7-25-19 Whaleshead DRC Dave Terrusa notified Betsy Parry that the upper system was ready for the tracer study. On 8-7-19, Jared Sylvester met Betsy Parry and Whaleshead staff on site for a validation check prior to conducting testing and walkthrough of the facilities. The tracer study was unable to be conducted due to the chlorine dosing not being proportional to flow. Tracer to be rescheduled upon completion of required deficiencies. |
