| Details: | Mariah Lewchuk, Shawn Stevenson, and I met with Mr. Singh to observe any issues that might be contributing to the E. coli contamination in Well #2 (AA). It was noted that ground around well was saturated and had standing water. Well sits near a hard-packed dirt road that had evidence of recent water run-off in the direction of the well. Also well is adjacent to a periodic stream and marshy area (50 - 100 feet to the north). Surface water was present at the time of our visit. Significant deficiencies had been corrected - however the asphalt and gravel built up around well casing and sloping away from casing still allowed pooled water around base of casing. More work needed there. Determined that system will be on 4-log disinfection if it is shown that contact time can be met. Our office is working on that calculation and should have a minimum chlorine level determined this week. Discussed record keeping and monthly submission for disinfection required. Mariah reviewed ERP and coliform sampling plan with operator. | ||
