| Details: | SUMMARY: OERS Incident # 2006-3169 DETAILS: On 12/13/2006 I received a phone call from Jeff Brown at DEQ, 541-912-8728. Jeff was calling about a diesel spill that occurred last night that might have impacted Willamina Creek near the confluence of the Yamhill River. Jeff asked if any drinking water intakes are nearby. I told him the City of Willamina uses Willamina Creek as their drinking water source. On 12/13/2006 I called and spoke with Michael Paull water plant operator for the City of Willamina. I explained the details of the incident and Paul indicated that Weyerhaeuser sawmill is located downstream of the City’s intake so there would be no water quality impacts. Paul will contact Gary Bacon at the City of Amity and inform him of the incident. I also called and left a message for Mark Prevo at the City of Sheridan. Ken Hamilton City of Sheridan called me back to say they stopped using the South Yamhill River source yesterday at 2:00 PM since spring flow is bountiful. | ||
