| Details: | The Midland Water Association is interested in obtaining funding for water line and metering improvement. There is a potentially leaky transmission line under the highway and more potential leaks elsewhere in distribution. The system is not metered at all and leaks have proven difficult, if not impossible to find and repair. Assistance Provided: The circuit rider had several phone conversations and correspondence with both Mike Oldenberg and Brenda Vassau of Midland Water Association. Several attempts were made to coordinate a site visit to more accurately determine the water association’s needs. The water association was unable to respond and set up a meeting. The circuit rider suggests that the water association apply and obtain a SIPP grant to hire an engineering firm to conduct a water system survey and to provide a feasibility study detailing needed water system infrastructure projects. Follow-Up Actions Needed: The circuit rider can assist with filling out the SIPP application if needed. |
