| Details: | SUMMARY: Well 1 (Old Well) to be connected to new transmission line to pump directly to reservoir. DETAILS: The transmission line from the new slow sand filters and Well 2 to the reservoir is under construction. The project engineer and City would like to connect Well 1 to the transmission line also, so that if it is used the water from all sources would mix in the transmission line and go directly to the reservoir. I had previously discussed the issue with Dave Wildman, Project Engineer and told him Well 1 would not require separate chlorination as long as water from the well does not go directly into the distribution system. Well 1 has a history of high iron & manganese levels so I strongly advised the City to sample for the secondary IOCs. I also noted that if Well 1 is used there may be taste and odor complaints. Well 1 reportedly pumps about 50 gpm. ACTION NEEDED: City to sample for Iron & Manganese, and other secondary inorganic chemicals. | ||
