Details: | SUMMARY: Stage 1 Alert: Voluntary Water Reduction Use DETAILS: Robert just called to notify us that Sandy issued a Stage 1 Alert on Monday asking citizens to voluntarily stop watering their lawn. The Alder Creek source is near the lowest it has ever been. Water supplies in town are falling, but they are doing OK for now, according to Robert. Average daily water use is 1.215 million gallons. Mondays use was 1.7 mgal. They have 3.75 mgal of storage. The next step, should they need to take it, is to issue a Stage 2 Alert: A mandatory cessation of lawn watering except on designated days. The other source, Brownell Springs, which will dry up at some point this summer unpredictably, is still going strong at ~0.4 mgal/day. If that source fails, immediate action will be necessary. ACTION NEEDED: None. They should be able to get through the week without more action. |
