Details: | In June, the chlorine levels on the treatment report were again insufficient to meet CT or even the 0.2 mg/L minimum level at the EP for several days. Their DRC Mike Murphy and I exchanged emails, along with HOA president Corinne Clifton and secretary Megan Maloney. Mike said they found that the digital chlorimeter was not reading correctly and calibrating it did not help - it had to be reset to factory defaults by Hach. After that, the digital meter and the color wheel began tracking pretty closely. Weiss will receive two more 10-pt violations for June. I advised them that if the problems continue into August (5th month) our enforcement staff will get involved. As for public notice, the ongoing boil notice (last issued 6/2/18) should cover those requirements for the June violations as well. Meanwhile, the PH was elevated for 4 days in June (9-10). The pH meter checked out, so they had an equipment person look at it. Mike wonders if their CIP caustic soda is getting into the finished water. They also submitted a turbidity value of 1.29 for one day in June. The DRC believes that was a sampling error, but even so, it would not trigger a TT violation (must exceed 1 (1.49) NTU over 95 percent of readings). | ||
