Details: | Daniel, the last set of samples you took showing coliform present suggests the first sample result was not an accident – there really is some contamination in the system. 1. The contamination may have been present since or before you changed the UV bulb(s); or 2. The contamination has found a place to sneak into the system after the UV treatment; or 3. The UV is not working correctly and cant destroy the amount of contamination present. Do your best to complete the attached checklist. Its purpose is to help you identify any weak point so you can fix it. The questions are divided into four groups. I want you to be absolutely sure there is no possible way water could come from the old spring and get into your system. The water line from the spring should be completely severed. Believing its already cut off, you should minimize time looking at the wells/springs questions and instead spend your time to look at the other 3 groups of questions. Give me a call after you’ve gone through the questions and hopefully the logical fix will be obvious. The state requires you to submit the form to the county health dept when its completed. I hope we can talk about within a few days so you can complete the form and more important fix any contamination problem to the water system. Its important to get anything fixed before the next samples are due. If needed you can pay for a special sample or 2 “just to see” if there is improvement. rh |
