Details: | SUMMARY: Treatment Options for Arsenic in the well DETAILS: HBH was contacted by the City due to high Arsenic in one of its three municipal wells. The City provides water to approximately 300 people through 120 connections. The water system consists of two older wells and one newer well which is the source of the highest arsenic contamination. HBH had previous contact with the City regarding treatment of arsenic in 2009. I composed a summary memorandum regarding the pros and cons of Point of Use Treatment. Memorandum also included recommendations that the City explore treatment of arsenic through the co-precipitation with Iron. As the source water contains no iron, the addition of a ferric coagulant would be required. I met with the City Council to discuss options for treatment as well as potential funding sources. ACTION NEEDED: Provide additional assistance as required. |
