| Details: | SUMMARY: Assistance to Interim Operator DETAILS: I spoke with interim operator, Jim, as system is operating without a certified operator since Dec 2010. I stressed to Jim the importance of securing an operator that meets Midlands qualifications, and the multiple barrier approach at SW plants. I stressed the importance of daily monitoring of turbidity and CTs and that DWP needed Dec 2010 and Jan 2011 monthly SWTR reports. Jim forwarded spreadsheet used to verify CTs at plant and to determine polymer and chlorine dosages. I reviewed and provided comments. Specifically, I requested that CTs be calculated correctly daily by measuring pH, temp and free chlorine residual daily at Epoint. I also requested that the contact time determined earlier by estimations in the 2008 survey be used, and that system conduct tracer study to more accurately determine cont time. ACTION NEEDED: Jim to forward over December and January SWTR reports to DWP. Jim to contact DWP if any questions on SWTR compliance or if NTUs high or CTs not being met. DWP to forward over list of certified operators in local and state area to Midland. | ||
