Details: | SUMMARY: Treatment Options for Arsenic in Well DETAILS: HBH was contacted by the City due to high arsenic levels in one of its three municipal wells. The City provides water to approximately 300 people through 120 connections. The water system consists of two older wells and one newer well, which is the source of the highest arsenic contamination. HBH previously had contact with the City regarding treatment of arsenic in 2009. Memorandum also included recommendation that the City explore treatment of arsenic through the co-precipitation with iron. As the source water contains no iron, the addition of a ferric coagulant would be required. HBH met with the City Council to discuss options for treatment as well as potential funding sources. UBU provided some additional cost estimating assistance and corresponded with treatment equipment installer. ACTION NEEDED: Provide additional assistance as required. |
