Details: | SUMMARY: SDWRLF Funding Assistance DETAILS: HBH was contacted by the City due to high arsenic levels in one of its three municipal wells. The City provides water to approximately 300 people through 120 connections. The water system consists of two older wells and one newer well, which is the source of the highest arsenic contamination. HBH previously had contact with the City regarding treatment of arsenic in 2009. HBH composed summary memorandum regarding the pros and cons of Point of Use treatment. Memorandum also includes recommendation that the City explore treatment of arsenic through the co-precipitation with iron. As the source water contains no iron, the addition of ferric coagulant would be required. The City has since contacted HBH for assistance with funding applications specifically the SDWRLF Letter of Interest (LOI). HBH reviewed cost estimates from the treatment plant manufacturer and engineer and provided information to Mayor Douglas regarding funding programs and cost estimation. HBH provided assistance with SDWRLF LOI. ACTION NEEDED: Provide additional assistance if required. |
