Details: | 2pm- Called Hiland water to respond to an alert for a high nitrate sample above the MCL. Initially left a message with Devin to have Matt Olson call me back, but then proceeded to call again after not getting a call back within the hour. The sample for nitrates was taken by an individual who does not normally take the samples when I asked if there was anything odd about the sampling procedure for this round. This is the only change noted at this time, the nitrates for this system are historically lower than half the MCL. I will be emailing Devin a Tier 1 public notice to complete to inform the customers about the sample. I informed them that a confirmation sample will be required to get to a lab before end of day tomorrow. Hiland water is an hour and a half away from Tooley Water District, but they will be taking that sample asap. 3pm- Called two members of the board for the water district John Amery and Larry Russ. John Amery shut off the lower well. We spoke about the requirements for the well and thoughts about this wells future as a viable source. Spoke about the agricultural application of fertilizer that happens right next to the well. Emailed John Amery the public notice and talked about CCRs. 4pm- Spoke with Matt Olson and confirmed that there will be samples taken tomorrow. |
