Details: | SUMMARY: Follow up on Copper Action level exceedence DETAILS: Patricio called on 12/28/12 to discuss lab results from 12 lead&copper tests taken 11/30/12. Several copper values were above the action level. He was concerned that at 8 of the 12 taps, the water fixtures were not seeing a period of normal use prior to the tests being taken. The ski season had just opened a week prior to 11/30, and some of the facilities were not in full operation. He wanted to re-sample at those 8 taps in late December (during six-month period) to get representative samples, as these 8 taps being used. I indicated I would begin invalidation request. After internal DWS discussions, I discussed with Patricio on 1/9/13, that I would need to know the last use of each of the 8 taps prior to the 11/30/12 samples. On 1/10/13, Patricio sent in 8 re-test Pb & Cu results from 12/30/12 and indicated he would research last use prior to 11/30/12 samples. ACTION NEEDED: Mt. Hood Meadows Spring to determine last use at each of the 8 taps in question to determine whether 11/30/12 samples are determined to be representative of normal use. DWS will use any specific additional use information and dates of use, provided by Meadows in any appropriate follow-up, for the initial invalidation request for the copper level 90th %tile action level exceedence. I indicated to Patricio that at this time, the 11/30/12 results had not been invalidated by DWS. DWS to provide support to Meadows for implementation of lead and copper rule monitoring and any potential treatment needed for elevated copper levels. | ||
