| Details: | SUMMARY: Follow up on Copper Action Level Exceedence DETAILS: On 1/9/13, I asked Patricio to determine when last use was at the fixtures with elevated copper levels prior to the 11/30/12 samples that were collected, in order to determine if there was normal use prior to the samples being collected. On 1/17/13, system indicated that there was minimal use at 7 of the taps prior to 11/30/12 sample collection. Patricio indicated that more use occurred later in December during peak season, but that ski resort was opened prior to 11/30/12 samples. After internal discussions, I determined that given there was some use of 7 taps prior to 11/30/12, that the copper levels associated with those taps would be valid, and that the 90th percentile had exceeded the action level, based on the combined twenty 11/30 and 11/7/12 samples. System had also sampled at 8 taps on 12/29/12, with results received by DWS. ACTION NEEDED: DWS will prepare letter for water system outlining next steps after copper action level exceedence (water quality parameter and lead & copper entry point sample collection). DWS to provide support to system as treatment alternatives are considered and possibly proposed based on water quality at system. | ||
