Details: | SUMMARY: E Coli Pos in Annual Sample from Howell Spring DETAILS: DWS received notification that Source sample (annual assessment sample) from Howell Spring was TC+ and Ecoli + therefore I contacted Dan to discuss followup sampling. I notified Dan that they were required to take 5 additional confirmation samples from Howell Spring asap. I also requested chlorine residual information from entry point (at or before first user) for the last 5 days including this morning (they do daily grabs according to most recent WSS). I also recommended that they pull one coliform sample at or near the first user to verify the absence of coliform in the distribution system. ACTION NEEDED: Wait for chlorine residuals. Per their approved tracer study approved in 2010, as long as they have had a detectable residual at the entry point since 9/18/13 extending through today, they should have adequate contact time and chlorine residual to achieve 4 log viral innactivation - and therefore not need to be placed on boil even if the confirmation source samples confirm E coli. | ||
