Details: | SUMMARY: Water Softening for Corrosion Control DETAILS: Young Life owns and operates the Washington Family Ranch, which is a camp with an approximate capacity of 1000 persons. In addition to the campers, there are full time residents on the Ranch. The water system recently completed construction of a membrane water treatment plant. There is concern about the increased corrosion due to the change in treatment process and water source. There had been previous copper excursions (as recently as Sept 2013)The Circuit Rider was contacted by Bill Palmaymesa to provide assistance with review of nanofiltration for corrosion control. The system is concerned about the use of orthophosphates and the impact this will have on boilers throughout the water system. Water softening through nanofiltration has been proposed by Westech. Reviewed nanofiltration proposal. Coordinated with Westech and YLWFR. Researched potential issues in regard to water softening as Corrosion control analysis. ACTION NEEDED: Complete corrosion control analysis. |
