Details: SUMMARY: Contacted water system regarding 4th quarter Arsenic sample over the MCL and installation of arsenic treatment DETAILS: Contacted Melissa Walton with the City of Paisley on November 18, 2015, regarding the 4th quarter arsenic result over the MCL. The arsenic treatment system was installed in August 2015 and sample results from the months of August, September and October were below the MCL until the recent sample. During the conversation we found that one of the older May 2015 samples were incorrectly entered into Data Online. Ms. Walton submitted the laboratory report to confirm the mistake. We also talked about taking a followup sample to show that the system is treating water below the MCL. On December 17, 2015, Duane Young, the opearator for the water sytem was contacted regarding the December sample. Mr. Young indicated that the sample was just recently sent in along with a nitrate, source coliform sample, three repeat colifom samples and an arsenic sample. I asked Mr. Young if he could have Ms. Walton send a letter or email indicating when the arsenic treatment was installed. Mr. Young also thinks that the high arsenic result may be the result of a malfunction in the treatment system which resulted in a loss of media in the arsenic treatment system. Mr. Young was going to add more treatment media to the system if the December results come back high. ACTION NEEDED: No action at this time, wait for the arsenic results and add more media to the treatment system if the arsenic result is over the MCL.
