Details: | The complainant has contacted Lincoln Co. EH as well as OHA Drinking Water Services phone duty person. After a few attempts, I was unsuccessful contacting the complainant. Her main concerns were the time line for correction for the boil water notice and that not all customers received the boil water notice. I contacted the water system, and at this time their number one goal is to get CT value and monitoring completed so they can remove the boil water notice which is hopefully in the next couple months. They've ordered parts for 24" contact chamber that will be 160' long. The WS bounced the dimensions off of Jay McPherson just to confirm it will work for CT values. Simultaneously, they are working with engineers to put together something for plan review to meet the long-term treatment requirements because they are now a GWUDI system. They are thinking along the lines of an ultrafiltration membrane plant that will incorporate the contact chamber for CT values, which will likely take the full 18 months. I let the WS know that they need to communicate this information to the water system users that there are 2 different time lines. Water system users are under the impression that they will be on a boil water for 18 months because that is what the WS office staff is reiterating to them. The WS distributed the boil water notices either via USPS or hand delivery, along with an explanation of the situation. However, until parts for the contact chamber arrive and construction scheduled, there isn't much more they can do at this time. |
