Details: | SUMMARY: Increased erosion upstream of intake DETAILS: Jim reports that recently when there is a substantial rain, the turbidity rises in the creek feeding Fahy Lake to a level of concern. He said you could nearly walk across one end of the lake recently. Jim contacted DEQ last week and someone named Brian came on site and walked up the creek with Jim. They found construction disturbance - likely what is causing the soil runoff. Jim has not heard back from Brian in 5 days, so he phoned me. I suggested he try Jacquie Fern at DEQ, because her job within DEQ is protection of public drinking water sources in surface waters. I also sent the Weiss Estates DRC an email suggesting he check to see how the membrane filters are doing with the high turbidity events. ACTION NEEDED: Await update on turbidity problem in source and whether that has affected the finished water turbidity. |
