| Details: | DWS staff informed system of a water quality concern obtained from a customer on Phone Duty. The customer expressed concerns about water quality and that a main line needs to be replaced. Large rust chunks are hypothesized to have clogged and damaged pumps and the last 2 backflow devices have failed with the "City's side of the valve damaged". Contaminants of concern (iron and manganese) are secondary contaminants. The City of Hillsboro conducted a flushing exercise on April 14-15th 2021 off the line of concern and will inform DWS of results. Update 5/14/2021: Pre- and post-flush levels of iron and manganese are below the MCLs (0.3 mg/L and 0.05 mg/L respectively). |
