Details: | SUMMARY: Polyphosphate and chlorination treatment adjusted DETAILS: Gregg Fisher of Filtration Technology, Inc. made a site visit to Adrian to review treatment operations. The Aqua Mag polyphosphate feed pump was shut off so the iron/manganese sequestration process has not been working for a while. Gregg worked with Clay Webb to get the pump started. They checked chlorine residuals and found 0.03 mg/l free and 0.08 mg/l at the Mirage Café. The chlorine solution pump was adjusted to 100% speed and stroke. The solution pump is 11 gpd max feeding 12.5% sodium hypochlorite and the well pumps at 100 gpm. Theoretical residual is 9.55 mg/l, and at the previous setting of 60% 5.73 mg/l. Therefore, without polyphosphate treatment, chlorine demand is very high. ACTION NEEDED: City to take 5 Routine samples when chlorine residual is adequate. |
