Details: SUMMARY: DBP monitoring increase from annual to quarterly. DETAILS: I received an alert for TTHM sampled 9/12/07 in October 2007. At the time, I used the 9/07 and 3/07 sample results to calculate the running annual average at 0.055 mg/L, which allowed Newport to remain on an annual sampling schedule for Stage 1 DBPs. I recently found out that I cannot use the 3/07 sample results in the calculation because they were quarterly results instead of annual results. As such, the newly calculated RAA for the 9/07 results is 0.078 mg/L which triggers monitoring to return to quarterly. I sent Steve Stewart an email notifying him of the schedule change. Next DBP Stage 1 sample results must be collected during 1st quarter 2008 from at least one location representing the maximum chlorine residence time. I also updated sdwis to show the quarterly schedule beginning in 2008. ACTION NEEDED: None.
