| Details: | SUMMARY: Total coliform MCL violation. Routine sample taken 12/22 was total coliform positive. DETAILS: Five more monthly routine samples were taken, and one was total coliform positive. No additional repeat samples are required. Ed is preparing public notification for MCL violation and will begin corrective actions next week. Actions will include adding chlorine at the reservoirs and flushing the system. The water bottling plants in Culver are shutting down for a few days starting January 1, so chlorination will be timed so that the plants do not get the chlorinated water. Ed now suspects that the problem may have been caused by the leak repair activities on the 20 inch pipeline between Opal Springs and the distribution system. ACTION NEEDED: Water system to provide public notification to customers, and newspaper. Also submit copy to DWP. Corrective actions of temporary chlorination and flushing to be taken week of December 29. | ||
