| Details: | SUMMARY: Zero pressure boil water notice DETAILS: I received a call from Joell Archibald (Clatsop County HHS Director 503-338-3600 x1912) regarding reports of people without water in Jewell Oregon, in an area served by the Evergreen Acres water system. I contacted Robert Jones who stated that they were without power to operate their pumps and disinfection system from December 20th to December 28th 2008. They system has no backup power, so the distribution system depressurized during the outage. Since the chlorinator and pumps were back on-line and no coliform samples had been taken, I instructed him to issue a zero pressure boil water notice, take coliform samples, and flush as needed to keep a residual disinfectant in the system. I recommended he contact Joell Archibald if he thought they might need help with backup power or bottled water, especially with a large storm expected within the next day or so. I sent him the boil notice template and told him to distribute it as soon as possible. ACTION NEEDED: Issue boil water notices as soon as possible, take coliform samples, and flush distribution system as needed. Contact Joell Archibald with Clatsop Co with the results of sampling and if emergency assistance is needed. | ||
