Details: SUMMARY: I called Steve Stewart because they took 3 DPB samples in November rather that 2 samples. He said that they took 3 because their population had exceeded 10,000 DETAILS: I talked to Gregg Baird about this and he said that Newport needs to have 4 Stage 2 DBP samples taken since their population is greater than 10,000. They should take a "dual sample set" . Their IDSE specifies which locations to use. They also need to increase the number of lead and copper samples but not their coliform. Casey and I updated the population number in SDWIS and Gregg updated the sampling schedules and had the lab results re-entered as being from an approved sample site. I spoke to Steve about this and sent him an email with the rule citation and a link to our web page on DBP monitoring. ACTION NEEDED: Review the next set of DBPs to assure sampling is being done as required.
