| Details: | SUMMARY: Service restored to 4 homes DETAILS: On January 9th the City of Newport had a vehicle hit a fire hydrant and break the feed line off at the hydrant and with that we had to isolate a 16” water main from the system. A press release was put out by the Public Works Director and with and 4 houses were out of water. The public works crew contacted each house and each place also received a door hanger about the shutdown as to how long the water would be off. Water main was flushed, chlorinated, and let to sit until Monday. On Monday the main was again flushed and a water sample for the lab analysis was collected. Lab results came back absent, and the main was put back into service on Tuesday afternoon at about 1:00. Public works also plans to remove each meter and flush as well. ACTION NEEDED: None. | ||
